3. My Favourite Film!

Hello everybody!

This time I tell you about my favorite movie. Rather I don't have a favorite but I like drama and mafia movies. The movie that contains these two genres is THE GODFATHER.

This film is divided into 3 parts and tells about the story of a mafia family from the USA with Italian descent. The first movie was filmed in 1972 and directed by Francis Ford Coppola and produced by Abert S. Ruddy. At that time it was one of the most popular films so it became a box office success.

It tells the story of a gangster named Vito Corleone (main character played by Marlon Brando) who was the head of one of the five families that control the mafia in New York. During his daughter's wedding, a man named Bonnasera approaches who offers Don Vito money to avenge the attack on his daughter who was injured and disfigured by her boyfriend. Vito refuses and takes this request as disrespectful. Corleones aren 't killers for money. Jhonny Fontane and Michael Corleones (Vito's son) arrive at this party. Fontane asks Vito to play the leading role in a movie and Vito agrees to help him by sending his Consigliere Tom Hagen to solve the problem.

Tom travels to California to the house of producer Jack Woltz, meets with him and he shows off his horse. By not agreeing to Tom's request, he unleashes his rage with the horse and the next day he presents him dead between the sheets of Jack's bed. Without a doubt, this is my favorite scene because of how events unfold and it shows from the beginning the line that the film will follow.

The corleones also have intentions to traffic heroin but have problems with the Tattaglia family that controls this market. Because of this sonny (son of Vito Corleone) orders to kill the head of the Tataglia because they tried to kill Vito while he was going with Fredo to buy fruits. While Don Vito was in the hospital recovering from the attack, the corrupt police chief expels Vito's bodyguards and the tataglia send hitmen to kill him. Michael calls Sonny to inform him of the situation, manages to change his father's room and protect him from the mercenaries.

When Michael returns to the mansion, he learns that, on Sonny's orders, Bruno Tattaglia has been murdered, causing the start of the war between the mafia families.

Micheal, who was a quiet person and was not involved in the mafia business, takes revenge by his own hands and murders the policeman and "El Turco" in a restaurant in the bronx, resulting in his entry into the mafia. After this double murder, Michael flees to the Italian island of Sicily and begins a gang war in New York.

In New York, Sonny beats up Carlo Rizzi, the husband of his sister Connie, as he mistreats her. After the beating, Sonny warns him that if he hits Connie again, he will kill him. Carlo plots revenge and beats Connie again, who calls Sonny on the phone between sobs: he, in a rage, comes to his rescue, but leaves his residence so hastily that his bodyguards do not have time to accompany him. . By the time they finally catch up to him, Sonny has been riddled with an ambush.

After the improvement of Don Vito, after being badly injured, he calls a meeting with the Five Families where he resigns to avenge Sonny's death, demands the safe return of Michael to the United States and, supported by his father, takes the reins of the family.

In order not to be more spoiler I leave you the invitation to see the saga of the 3 films since despite being very extensive they keep you attentive throughout the filming. I could spend a whole day narrating the events of this work of art! Hahaha!

Unquestionably this film is a Classic and one of the most acclaimed and appreciated productions of American and world cinematography for a total of $ 245,066,411 in gross receipts. Due to its large cast, in 1973 it won three Oscars for best actor for Marlon Brando, best film and best adapted screenplay for Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola. In addition to five Golden Globes for best dramatic film, best director, best dramatic actor, best original song and best screenplay. The most famous phrase that I remember the most is "Be close to your friends, but more to your enemies."
